2nd class


My second class was awesome, I’m more than satisfy. It was this last Friday, and it was about comparatives and superlatives. Some of you guys already watched my video but here I’ll explain all the activities I worked with. Since the topic was superlatives I decided to add comparatives as well and to do so I brought to class a list of adjectives, I pasted those adjectives on the board. The adjectives helped students  during the whole class since the activities were connected. In the warm-up, I gave to the students a piece of paper, they had to paste it on their backs so that their classmates could write the adjectives that best describes each of them. They were so excited about this that It was really hard for me to stop them, but this warm-up helped the students to get more confident since they were kind of shy because  someone was recording the class.
I worked with semi-controlled and free practice. The first activity was a reading about “my family”, students had to write the superlative in the free space they had, they had the verb in the simple present tense so they had to write it using superlatives.
In the second activity, I pasted three cartoons on the board: Bob, Homer and Alice, I wrote their information such as age, height and weight. I gave a pice of paper with some sentences they had to complete by looking at the pictures and the information about each cartoon.
And in the free practice, I decided to make three groups, I gave bond paper and markers to each group and I asked them to create a super hero. The students had to name it and they had to compare their super hero with another one such as Superman. The students enjoyed this activity because they like to create things, so they were thinking about the names and they present their super hero to the rest of us.
I guess all the activities were connected to my objective and what is more important students had so much fun.

First class with the English Access group

Hello guys, here is my first practice, I started so late since I had a really hard time during the last weeks. The first class was last week, on Wednesday. I’m teaching in the English Access
 with teacher Gerardo, I love being with that group, even though it was my first class I did it so great because the students are so flexible. I set up the desk in groups because the students were working in groups the whole class. I started the class by giving to the students a piece of paper with their names on it so that I could learn their names, which is something really helpful since I do not know them, after that, I presented my objective and the warm-up. The students were finishing the lesson about likes and dislikes so I focused my teaching in free practice. In the warm-up section I wrote  dogs and tigers on the board, I asked the students to stand up in front of the animal they like the most, after that they had to tell why they  like the animal they chose. It was a really nice beginning because they were talking since the beginning. After the warm-up, students worked in groups and students had to write the things they like to do and the ones they don’t like to do in their free time. They were sharing with their classmates. In the last activity, I pasted some pictures on the board about romantic music, rock music, horror movies, romantic movies and sports. So, students have a chart which they had to complete by asking 5 classmates this  “DO YOU LIKE ROCK MUSIC?, when they finished they choosed a classmate and they wrote a paragraph about his/her likes and dislikes  and they share that paragraph with the rest of us. It is really nice how these students use the language, I was very surprised because of their level and I felt they really enjoyed the class, I did it as well.

Last class!!!




The last class with advance was good, the only problem I always had is that students arrived late to class, in this last class I started at 4: 05 pm, with just 5 students so the warm-up didn’t work as I expected. But anyways, I continue with the class. The class was about the use of can, I started the class with a reading as a presentation. The reading was about a guy who works in a call center,  it was about the  things he can do in his job and things he cannot do.
After that brief presentation, I explained the use of can. It was really nice because students already know about the topic so it was not difficult for them to get it. I spent most of the time explaining the use of can and at the end I gave a picture of an occupation to each student so that they share the things they can do and the things they cannot do. I enjoyed these classes with the group, and what I enjoyed the most is that the students love to share their ideas with you. They are a really nice group.

2nd Class


This last Friday I gave my second practice, and now I can say I was more relaxed.
I started the class with a nice warm-up, I brought some strip sentences and I divided the class in two groups, they formed the sentences. Since last class was about the use of “used to”, I decided to write sentences using used to.
I just made a review about used to and I introduced the use of “would” by giving the meaning, the rules and when they need to use would, I pasted a chart on the board with the differences between used to and would.
When I explained the use of those two terms I gave to the students a controlled exercise where they had to choose “used to” or “would” depending on the context. This is what I did in my previous class, and  I enjoyed the class since I felt more comfortable with my students.

First Class, Second Period



Hello guys, here is my first class with Advance English; the group is in charge of Teacher Giovenni Blanco.
Well, I have to say that I was so nervous in this class because I did not know the students and also because of the level they are. I started the class at 4 O’clock because the students arrived really late and I couldn’t start the warm-up just with 3 students. So, when I had around 6 students I started the class.
I worked with the free practice; they did two activities about discussion. In the first activity I wrote some questions on the board so that they can discuss those questions in peers. The questions were about the future; here I want to show some of the questions they were discussing about:
1.   How will the world be in 5, 10, 15 years?
2.   Will there still be wars?
3.   How often do you think about your future?
They were talking about these questions, when they finished, I asked some of them about it.
The second activity was about discussion as well but in this one, I wrote some topics on pieces of paper and I made four groups, so I gave a piece of paper to each group, and the topics were: technological advances, medicine, education and marriage.
They share their ideas and they had a little presentation to share the information they had about the topic.
These was all about my class, hopefully I’ll be more relaxed in my next class.

First Period DONE!! Yeiiiii :)


I finished my first four classes and this was my last class with Intermediate II, I will miss my students, we had such a good empathy, we learned from each other and that makes me happy. 
In my last class I worked in the grammar section, it was about  the use of "so" and "such", and a review of countable and uncountable nouns. I can say they enjoyed my last class because I tried to have fun when teaching. I can also tell that I was not a teacher but a orientator and what I love is that they do not only met  a teacher but a friend. 
I really enjoyed this group since they are only 12 students, which is good to the fact that we were having classes in a small classrooms, the teacher was so nice, he gave me really good feedbacks in every class and that helped me a lot because he made me realized about my abilities when teaching and also the things I need to avoid. Well, this period is done and I'm ready for my next group.
